The Babylon Panthers tapped their future stars going deeper and deeper into the bench and ripped the Mercy Monarchs 47-6 at Williams Field last Friday night. They presented Rick Punzone with his fiftieth victory as a head coach and marched another step in the 2008 playoffs.

Five men arrested for patronizing prostitutes

Suffolk County Police today arrested five "Johns", people who solicited prostitutes, in Bay Shore Wed., Nov. 5. The arrests were made between noon and 3 p.m. after police in the Third Precinct Crime Section and Community Oriented Police Enforcement (COPE) officers conducted a "John" sting in response to neighborhood complaints.

Man charged in hold up at local pharmacies

Suffolk County Police arrested a Dix Hills man on Monday for robbing three pharmacies on the same day last month, including one in Lindenhurst. Police gave this account. Bernard Johnson entered the Walgreens at 5001 Route 25 in Commack, and demanded money from the cashier on Sept. 14 at 8:25 a.m.

Pastor Appreciation Day at Bethel A.M.E. Church

On Sun., Oct. 12, the members of 101-year-old Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church of Babylon honored their former pastor and their present pastor in an afternoon praise service at the church. Honored were The Reverend Larry Jennings and The Reverend Leonard M. Davis. The church is located at 50 Cooper St. near the post office.

The Unqua Corinthian Yacht Club annual Ladies Day luncheon and fashion show was held Wed., Aug. 20 and hosted by Karen Whalen, Gail Ferrari, Judy Hughes and Lisa Gilbrandsen. The event was attended by over 190 guests. The fashions were supplied by J. Stack of Bay Shore and the children's fashions came from Omni Girls of Babylon.

Born in Babylon to Frank and Angelina, he ran the family business - Lawrence Cleaners in West Babylon, with his partner, brother-in-law and best friend, Sam Stein.
