SC Police make arrest in Babylon Village burglaries

Suffolk County Police arrested a man who robbed two Babylon Village businesses earlier this year.

 Police said Michael Riggs, 32 of West Babylon, entered Kilwins, located at 130 Deer Park Ave., on Jan. 21, 2018 and demanded cash. Employees complied with his demand and he fled on foot. On Feb. 15, 2018, he robbed the European Image Tanning and Sunless Center located at 1 Park Avenue.

 After a thorough investigation by First Squad detectives, Riggs was arrested at the intersection of the North Sunrise Service Road and Brookside Avenue in North Babylon at approximately 5:55 p.m. He was charged with two counts of Robbery 3rd Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree.

 Riggs will be held at the First Precinct is scheduled to be arraigned today at First District Court in Central Islip.
