Police cracking down on drunk drivers this weekend

Suffolk County Police Commissioner Timothy D. Sini and Chief of Department Stuart Cameron are announcing a crackdown on motorists driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol for the New Year’s Eve holiday weekend.

As part of the continuing effort to keep Suffolk County roadways safe and free of intoxicated drivers, the Suffolk County Police Department will have additional officers on patrol on New Year’s Eve.  Patrols will be deployed throughout the police jurisdiction using STOP-DWI grant funds, said Sini.

Suffolk County actively enforces DWI laws and takes a zero-tolerance approach for anyone driving under the influence and placing the public in danger.
