State Police ask public's help in identifying sexual assailant

Victim approached in Robert Moses State Park

A police sketch artist had drawn the image of a man that the New York State Park Police wanted in connection with an incident of attempted forcible sexual assault and forcible touching.

The incident occurred at 11:45 p.m. Sun., July 23 at the park. The victim reported that the assailant was a white male, between 40- and 45-years of age and approximately 6-feet tall. He weighed approximately 210 pounds, and had short, salt and pepper colored hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt and jean shorts.

Park Police are asking that anyone who was in the area of Robert Moses park that night or anyone with any information about the case to call them at 631-321-3700. All calls will be kept confidential.
