Thief steals cell tower batteries

Police said batteries like this were stolen and they are seeking the public's help in apprehending the individual or individual's responsible.Police said batteries like this were stolen and they are seeking the public's help in apprehending the individual or individual's responsible.Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the person(s) who stole items from a cell phone tower sub-station in Deer Park between April 22 and July 26. Police said that the individual or individuals stole 30 Marathon batteries, valued at $300 each, from 110 Brook Avenue. The model number of the stolen batteries is M12V155FT. 

The serial numbers range sequentially from 1741054 to 1741083. The 12 volt batteries weigh approximately 100 pounds each, and measure approximately 22 inches long, 10 inches wide, and 4 inches thick.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
