Town to host cyber safety program tonight

Topics geared to protecting children

Parents, educators, children’s advocates and others who are concerned about internet safety and child security are invited to attend Town of Babylon’s community event tonight, 6:30 p.m. at Babylon Town Hall, 200 E. Sunrise Hwy., Lindenhurst.

The event is held in conjunction with Long Island Citizens for Community Values (LICCV), which will host the meeting and discuss internet and child safety to empower families with solutions to regulate the access of obscene material online. Topics include internet safety, sexting, cyber bullying, and unregulated internet access.

Representatives from Long Island Citizens for Community Values will provide various software, resources, and solutions regarding child internet safety.

 Also attending will be Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer, Town Councilmen Tom Donnelly and Tony Martinez,LICCV Executive Director Robert Lloyd, Long Island Families Together Executive Director Eileen Kadletz, Long Island Families Together and New York State United Teachers Healthcare Professional of the Year Dawn Matthews.
