Rally to keep Babylon 'United not Divided" held at Town Hall today

Babylon Town Supervisor Richard Schaffer held a rally today on the steps of Babylon Town Hall in a preemptive strike against a movement to bring councilmatic districts to the Town. Republicans, who support the change saying it will be closer and more responsive government, are mounting a petition drive to put the question to the voters on November’s ballot.

Meanwhile, Schaffer, who has made the rallying cry for his campaign, “Keep Babylon United —Not Divided,” say the change will divide the Town and cause dissention between communities.

Those at the event included Lindenhurst and Babylon Village officials, and civic organization representatives.
