De Lucca was surrounded by friends, family and colleagues as he accepted the honor and had the chance to talk about one of his favorite subjects—baseball.

The event took place Tues., May 3, beginning with a reception at the Junior Senior High School and ending with ceremonies beneath the new Joe De Lucca Field sign that now graces the west side of the field.
