Babylon Village budget hearing Monday night

New spending plan calls for zero percent tax rate increase

Babylon Village is holding its budget hearing Mon., April 3. The new spending plan calls for no increase in taxes, a maintenance of all services and “a small cushion” to help the Village move forward with some new purchases and projects, said Mayor Ralph Scordino.

“Right now we have to get through the next two months to see where we are,” said Scordino.

The Village’s tax year begins June 1.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. to be followed by the Village’s organizational meeting and the swearing in of newly elected and reelected Trustees Mary Adams and Kevin Muldowney, as well as Village Justice John Rafter.
