NB MAN CHARGED IN TWO BANK ROBBERIES

Suffolk County Police arrested a North Babylon man Fri., Jan. 20 and charged him in the robbery of a bank last year.

 Major Case Unit detectives arrested Dennis Weiss, 38, of Islip Terrace at approximately 12:15 p.m. and charged him with attempting to rob the Chase Bank, 2271 Route 112, Medford, on June 22, 2016, and for robbing the Capital One, 1383 Deer Park Ave., North Babylon on August 25, 2016.

 Weiss allegedly entered the Capital One at approximately 4:05 p.m., approached a teller and demanded cash. The teller complied and Weiss fled on foot in a southeasterly direction from the bank.

Weiss was charged with Attempted Robbery 3rd Degree and Robbery 3rd Degree.

He was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip the day of his arrest.
