Lindenhurst School District seeking applicants for Bower Committee

The Lindenhurst School District Board of Education voted 8-1 in favor of establishing an E.W. Bower Elementary School think tank advisory committee at a school board meeting last week. The committee is charged with helping to gather information on what the future of the school property will be.

 School board trustee Edward Murphy voted in opposition.

 According to district officials, the committee will be comprised of the following three subcommittees: “Sale,” “Repurpose” and “Rental,” and will be led by four appointed volunteers.

 Committee meetings are open to the public, dates are as follows and the times are to be announced:

January 24, 2017 - General Meeting

January 25, 2017 - Rental Committee

January 30, 2017 - Sale Committee

February 1, 2017 - Rental Committee

February 6, 2017 - Repurpose Committee

February 8, 2017 - Sale Committee

February 14, 2017 - Repurpose Committee
