Police seeking public's help in apprehending Lindenhurst vandals

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a group of teenagers who damaged a vacant Lindenhurst store last month.

Three to four teenagers entered the former Waldbaum’s, at 50 W. Hoffman Ave., and damaged glass refrigeration doors, glass countertops, windows, an entrance door and office equipment between Nov. 26 and 28.

The suspects also poured paint on the floors and walls, and sprayed all the fire extinguishers throughout the store, which caused approximately $40,000 in damage.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
