Police seeking public's help in locating assailant

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating the man who assaulted a man in Copiague last month.­

 Police gave this account:

A man was at Signal 8 Saloon, 80 Montauk Highway, when a man hit him over the head several times with a wooden pool stick and then stabbed the victim in the back and abdomen on November 12 at approximately 1:30 a.m. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital.

 The suspect was described as in his early to mid-30s, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, 165 pounds with a short beard and dreadlocks. He is shown here in a photo taken from a surveillance camera.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
