Two locals charged in Massapequa bank robbery

The Nassau County Major Case Bureau detectives from the Robbery Squad report the arrest of two men, one from Copiague and and the other from Deer Park, in connection with a bank robbery that occurred in Massapequa Fri;,. Jan. 15. 

Charged in that robbery were Shabril Maxwell, 21, of 51 Bethpage Road, Copiague and Robert DiGrazia, 25, of 622 Carlls Path, Deer Park. 

Police said the pair entered the Bethpage Federal Credit Union, 6257 Sunrise Highway and DiGrazia approached a bank teller and passed a demand note, as well as verbally demanding money. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, both subjects fled the bank and were last observed on foot westbound towards Willow Street.

During the Robbery there were 9 employees and 2 customers present; none of whom were injured.

Maxwell was located at the Nassau County Correctional Facility, where he was incarcerated for an unrelated charge and was placed under arrest. He is charged with Robbery 2nd Degree, Robbery 3rd Degree and Grand Larceny 4th Degree. He was arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 10/19/2016.

 DiGrazia was also located at the Nassau County Correctional Facility, where he was incarcerated for an unrelated charge and was placed under arrest.  He is being charged with Robbery 2nd Degree, Robbery 3rd Degree, Grand Larceny 4th Degree and Criminal Facilitation 4th Degree.
