Lindenhurst man charged in Nassau burglaries

Major Case Bureau detectives from the Nassau County Police Department’s Crimes Against Property Squad Burglary Pattern Team report the arrest of a Copiague man for Burglaries and Attempted Burglaries that occurred in Nassau County.

According to detectives, Tyler Rock, 28, of 383 28th St., was arrested in Lindenhurst for multiple burglaries that occurred in June 2016 on the following days and locations.

•June 22, Broadway Groceries, 1139 N. Broadway, N. Massapequa;

 •June 22, Barjay Cards, 3-10 Northwest Drive, Farmingdale;

•June 22, B&G Stationary, 4139 Merrick Rd., Massapequa;

•June 25, Colony Cards Gifts & school Supplies, 1984 Merrick Rd., Merrick;

•June 25, B&G Stationary, 4139 Merrick Road, Massapequa.

 In all incidents, Rock used a pry bar to smash the front glass door. In two of the five occurrences, Rock fled the scene prior to entering the business. His proceeds included money, cigarettes, New York State instant lottery tickets and assorted merchandise.

Rock was charged with three counts of Burglary, 3rd Degree, and two (2) counts of Attempted Burglary, 3rd Degree. He was arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead today, Fri., Aug. 12.
