PUBLIC COMMENTARY: The enduring pain of a sound political whomping
Parents sending children to summer camp usually hope their kids will learn about sports, nature and friendship. But camp is also a hotbed of electoral politics.
My brush with the machinations of summer-camp democracy came in 1975. It was my seventh year at Camp Scatico in Upstate New York, where I hoped to be elected color war captain.
