NOW, THEREFORE, be it
RESOLVED AND ORDAINED that the amendments to the Uniform Code of Traffic
Ordinances, as set forth herein as Exhibit “A”, be and the same are hereby adopted effective
immediately; and be it further
RESOLVED AND ORDAINED that the Director of Traffic Safety be authorized and
directed to install, erect, remove or replace such signs or other traffic safety devices as may
be required by these amendments or by the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

adopted a resolution, subject

AUTHORIZING THE
DISCONTINUANCE OF A
PORTION OF
CHELTENHAM ROAD
IN WEST BABYLON, NEW
YORK, ADJACENT TO
SCTM #0100-145.00-01-
.00-062.000 and 063.000
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of the Department of
Public Works of the Town
of Babylon has determined
that a portion of CHELTENHAM ROAD in West
Babylon, adjacent to Suffolk
County Tax Map Nos. 0100-
145.00-01.00-062.000 and
063.000 situated in the Town
of Babylon, County of Suffolk, State of New York, and
more particularly described

in the attached Schedule “A,”
is unnecessary for highway
purposes; and
WHEREAS, said portion
of CHELTENHAM ROAD
is not within the limits of
any incorporated village,
has not been travelled or
used as a public right of way
for a period of more than 6
years and is unnecessary for
highway purposes; and
NOW, THEREFORE, be
it
RESOLVED, that consent
is given that the Town of
Babylon Commissioner of
the Department of Public
Works shall file and cause
to be recorded in the Town
Clerk's Office an Order directing that said portion
of CHELTENHAM ROAD
be discontinued and abandoned for highway purposes
pursuant to Highway Law
Section 205.
RESOLVED, that
the Supervisor is authorized
to execute a Quitclaim Deed
to merge the discontinued
portion of CHELTENHAM
ROAD with the adjoining
property at SCTM No. 0100-
145.00-01.00-062.000.
RESOLVED, that
this resolution shall be subject to a permissive referendum

and the Town Clerk is
hereby directed to publish
a notice of adoption of this
resolution.
