Lou Howard, a former football coach and New York State lawmaker, was recently honored as first inductee into Farmingdale State College’s Department of Aviation. The inauguration ceremony was held in December at the Aviation Center south of the main campus. Howard is the former chair of the aviation department and one of the pioneers of the program, which dates back to the 1960s.
