NOTICE IS HERBY GIVEN that pursuant to the resolution of the Board of Trustees of the Lindenhurst Memorial Library, One Lee Avenue, Lindenhurst, New York, the annual election and budget vote of Lindenhurst School District Public Library will be held on April 3, 2012, between the hours of 9:00 o’clock A.M. (D.S.T.) and 9:00 o’clock P.M. (D.S.T.) at the Lindenhurst Memorial Library, One Lee Avenue, Lindenhurst, New York, for the purpose of voting upon the following Propositions: PROPOSITION NO. 1

Shall the Library Budget, proposed by the Board of Trustees of the Public Library of the Lindenhurst School District, be approved, and a tax on the taxable property of the District be levied therefore, pursuant to the terms of Section 259 of the Education Law.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that an election will take place on April 3, 2012, for the purpose of electing two (2) trustees, one (1) trustee for a fiveyear term beginning July 1, 2012, and ending June 30, 2017, and one (1) trustee for the balance of an unexpired term that commenced on July 1, 2009 and expires on June 30, 2014, with the successful candidate for such unexpired term being eligible to take office immediately upon being elected and duly qualified, and that petitions, nominating candidates for the office of member of the Board of Trustees of the Library, must be filed with the Director of the Library between 9:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M.(E.S.T.), no later than thirty (30) days before the Election. Each petition shall be directed to the Director of the Library, shall be signed by at least twenty-five (25) qualified voters of the district, or 2% of the number of those who voted in the previous election, whichever number is greater, pursuant to Section 2018 of the Education Law, shall state the residence of each signer, the name and residence of the candidate. Vacancies on the Board of Trustees are not considered separate, specific offices; candidates run at- large. Nominating petitions shall not describe any specific vacancies upon the Board of Trustees for which the candidate is nominated. Forms of petition for Library Board Trustee may be obtained at the library any weekday from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. (E.S.T).

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that Personal Registration and the Annual election and budget vote at the Lindenhurst School District Public Library shall be conducted at the Lindenhurst Memorial Library, and that those qualified to register and vote shall do so at the Library.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that copies of the estimated expenses of the Library for the year 2012-2013 may be obtained at the Library beginning March 1, 2012, from Mondays through Thursdays from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. (E.S.T.), and on Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. (E.S.T.), and that any other propositions to be voted upon are available for inspection by any taxpayer in the District at the Library on Mondays through Thursdays from 9:00 A.M. (E.S.T.) to 9:00 P.M. (E.S.T.) and on Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. (E.S.T.).

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that a public hearing shall be held on March 22, 2012, at 7:00 P.M. (D.S.T.) at the Library for the purpose of discussion of the expenditure of funds and the budgeting thereof.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the Board of Registration shall meet at the Library on March 24, 2012, from 10:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. (D.S.T.).

Any person shall be entitled to have his name placed upon such register provided that at such meeting of the Board of Registration he proves to the satisfaction of such Board of Registration to be then or thereafter entitled to vote at the election for which such register is prepared. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a Special District Meeting of the qualified voters of the Half Hollow Hills Central School District will be held on Tuesday April 3, 2012, between the hours of 9:30 A.M. and 9:00 P. M. at the Half Hollow Hills Community Library, 55 Vanderbilt Parkway, Dix Hills, New York, the designated polling place, for the following purposes: 1. To consider and vote upon the appropriation of necessary funds to meet the estimated expenditures of the Half Hollow Hills Community Library for the fiscal year 2012-2013. 2. To elect one Library Trustee, for a term of five (5) years, commencing July 1, 2012. A petition shall be required to nominate such candidate to the office of Library Trustee. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that the Board of Registration for the School District shall meet at the Half Hollow Hills Community Library, 55 Vanderbilt Parkway, Dix Hills, New York, on March 22, 2012, between the hours of 9:30 A.M. and 9:00 P.M. for the purpose of preparing a register of the qualified voters of the School District for said special district meeting and election, at which time any person shall be entitled to have his/her name placed upon such register, provided that at such meeting of the Board of Registration he/ she is known or proven to the satisfaction of the Board of Registration to be then or thereafter entitled to vote at said district meeting.
