After much debate, West Islip School Board votes to close Kirdahy and Westbrook schools

The West Islip School Board voted to close two of its elementary schools last night after a study to determine how best to meet its budgetary and declining enrollment problems. Those schools are the Paul E. Kirdahy School on Snedecor Avenue and Westbrook Elementary on Higbie Lane.
