Thanks to a grant from New York State Assemblyman Robert K. Sweeney, the Lindenhurst Fire Department recently purchased a new ambulance which will serve the residents of the Village of Lindenhurst. The new ambulance will primarily be used to respond to all medical emergency alarms, automobile accidents, fire alarms and CO2 activations. Because of the steady increase of such alarms, now approaching more than 80 percent of the total number of ire department responses, reliable ambulances are essential to serve the 28,000 residents of Lindenhurst. The Rescue Company responded to nearly 2,800 emergency calls in 2009. Mayor Brennan said, “It is essential that the Village provide our emergency responders with the best possible equipment when responding to medical emergencies.”
