Armed man holds up West Babylon bank

Police investigation underway

A man, armed with a gun, walked into a Chase Bank in West Babylon this morning, asked to speak to the manager and then demanded cash.
Suffolk County Police Major Case detectives are investigating the bank robbery that occurred at 10 a.m. at the bank located at 733 Sunrise Highway.

Police said the subject displayed a handgun, demanded money, walked behind the counter and took money from the drawer. He fled using the rear entrance to the bank.

The suspect was described as white, approximately 6’ 1” tall, approximately 55 years old with thin-to-medium build and gray hair. He was wearing a dark suit or sports jacket, white shirt with a light blue tie, dark pants, black shoes, white Panama-style hat and sunglasses.
