Woman pulled from burning car on Sunrise Highway

Good samaritans bring her to safety seconds before car bursts into flames
Today's news, July 4: Shortly after 4 p.m., yesterday, Deris Medlock was driving along Sunrise Highway in North Amityville when he saw a woman a few cars ahead of him slam into the back of a van. Almost immediately, smoke began to rise from the engine compartment but the woman was still in the car. Medlock knew he had to do something—and do it quickly.
