Throughout his life, Frank E. Putre gravitated to the things that enabled him to be of service to his country, his community and his neighbors. A longtime member of St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church, Amityville and a retired New York City Fire Department Deputy Chief, Putre died May 5, 2010 at Huntington Hills Center in Huntington. He was 88 years old.
