Community newspapers alive and well, despite public perception, says NYPA
In a twist on the famous Mark Twain quote, the reports about the demise of newspapers has been grossly exaggerated. Note, for example, that in the past ten years, the number of weekly newspapers represented by the New York Press Association has increased from 588 to 727, including culturally specific newspapers.
