LHS Athletes signs with Clemson for baseball
Lindenhurst High School baseball star Jon McGibbon signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Clemson University on a baseball scholarship. McGibbon has been the starting first baseman for the Bulldogs since his freshman year and holds the school record for playoff hits with 18.
McGibbon is also an accomplished football player. He is a two-time All-County honoree, and most recently led the team into the Suffolk County semifinals.
“Coach Rogers and I are thrilled for Jon and his family. Clemson is a baseball powerhouse, and they don’t recruit many players from the Northeast," said head coach Michael Canobbio, "Jon’s summer baseball organization, the Long Island Titans, did a tremendous job in showcasing his talents to colleges and major league scouts. He has already been contacted by six major league teams."
