Bay Shore High School honored as the News 12 Long Island Varsity Scholar Athlete of the Week
Katie Lawlor of Bay Shore High School has been honored as the News 12 Long Island/MSG Varsity Scholar Athlete of the Week, an award that recognizes significant achievements both in the classroom and on the playing field.
One of Long Island’s fastest rising stars, Lawlor is an outstanding swimmer and team player. According to Coach Mariusz Borkowski, she is team captain of the Marauders and swims both the 200 and 500 freestyle. She is also part of the relay team and earned All-League honors. Academically, Lawlor is number one in her class of 460 with an un-weighted average of 95.5, while scoring a 2170 on her SAT’s. Adding to her resume, she is the starting goalie for the lacrosse team and is an academic all-American. In her free time, Lawlor finds time to play the oboe for the school band.
