Lindenhurst School District’s Albany Avenue Elementary School held kindergarten orientation on the day before school officially opened. “It lets the new students become familiar with the building before they actually have to be here officially,” explained principal Frank Grotschel. “The older students give tours and answer questions,” he added.
Students and parents arrived to a warm welcome from the principal and then met the kindergarten teachers. Students and parents then went on separate building tours. The orientation ended with juice, iced tea and cookies, courtesy of the Parent- Teacher Association.
