Dear Editor:
To William H. Hill. Upon reading your rebuttal to my “Open letter to atheists and non-believers” that was printed in the in the Jan. 6 edition of the Amityville Record, I sensed that your are burdened with a lot of hurt and disappointment. I never mentioned anything about abortion or gays in my letter. You made it clear that you are also unhappy with our great country, the United States of America. Here we have the freedom to do so much, such as stating our opinions in the newspaper. These freedoms didn’t just happen. Thousands of men and women fought and died to obtain and protect them. Rest assured, my brain is well engaged, even if you have a different opinion of my faculties.
While reading what you wrote, I thought to myself, “Why is this guy attacking me so viciously when he doesn’t even know me? Did I hit a nerve?” As I read on, I found the answer. You claim that you are a proud member of the A.C.L.U. Now I know your problem.
God loves you.
