U.S. Coast Guard boating course offered in West Babylon

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary will be holding its’three-session America’s Boating Course for the general public at West Babylon High School in March. The course will be taught by highly qualified instructors from Flotilla 01-01.

The topics to be covered include: Introduction to Boating, Boating Law, Boating Safety Equipment, Safe Boating, Navigation, Boating Problems and Trailering.

The total program is 8-hours long and classes will be held on three consecutive Wednesday nights from 7 p.m. till 9:45 p.m. each night. Classes will be held on March 3, 10 and 17.

Babylon

The cost of the program is $55 for both residents and non-residents. This includes all course materials.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a certificate that is acceptable to New York State for the operation of recreational boats or PWCs (personal water crafts). Many insurance companies offer discounts to boaters who successfully complete America’s Boating Course.
