Helping Hands in West Islip, Inc. will hold a Valentine’s gift and footwear drive., Wed., Feb. 10, 9:30 a.m. at the American Legion Hall, 340 Union Blvd., West Islip. The footwear will be distributed to local children and adults in need.

The items should be tied together with a ribbon and a small toy, beanie, candies or Valentine’s treat. Cards are great too. New and almost-new shoes, sneakers and boots, as well as slippers and socks in all sizes are welcome. If you still have the box, decorate it and put the shoes back in it. You may add extra treats to the box for a child’s added enjoyment. The group is also collecting Valentine’s treats of all types. For information, email jengallozzi@optonline. net.
