The Helping Hands Toy drive allowed thousands of Suffolk County children to receive gifts from Santa. Helping Hands typical “grass roots efforts” had hundreds of folks from all over Long Island go to the American Legion Hall in West Islip to prepare more than 5,000 toys for Santa’s sleigh.
