Changes are in the air in the West Islip School District where a search for a new superintendent is underway, new policies have been enacted and improvements abound. In an announcement two weeks ago, the school board said that Superintendent Dr. Beth Virginia Blau will be retiring in July 2010. She has been at the helm of the district for 9 years.
