Veterans Day ceremonies were held at Long Island National Cemetery this year, with the firing squad composed of members of the Babylon American Legion Post 94. Also on hand for the event were members of dozens of veterans’ organizations throughout Long Island. Master of ceremonies was Ken Cadieuz, of N.C. American Legion, president of LINCMO, the Long Island National Cemetery Memoral Orgainzation. There was an advancing of colors, invocation, the raising of the POW/MIA flag, taps and benediction by Joseph P. Slattery Jr., Chaplain. In his message, LINCMO president Cadieuz said that we say “thank you” very oftenin our lives and for the slightest compliment or courtesy. “But, how do you say thank you to someone for saving the world?”

Simply put, we owe them a debt that can never be repaid…Without our veterans America would not be America.”
