Town of Babylon hosted 2009 Hispanic Heritage celebration

The Town of Babylon hosted its 2009 Hispanic Heritage celebration honoring one of its own as “Man of the Year”, Mel Guadalupe, a resident of West Babylon, is Suffolk County’s Director of Minority Affairs. In this position, he oversees and facilitates the County Executive’s Hispanic, African American, Asian and Muslim Advisory Boards as well as the Interfaith Anti-Bias Task Force. He has worked with many diverse communities throughout his career and acted as a liaison for both governmental agencies and communities. S.C. Leg. Wayne R. Horsley presented Mel Guadalupe with a proclamation in honor of this prestigious award.
