St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School honorees

Thefollowing students were celebrated for their achievement on Thurs., Oct. 15th. The achievement of student were celebrated at St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School in West Islip. Applause rose from the “standing-room-only” crowd of honor students, faculty, and parents rose at the Ann Frances Dunne Auditorium as 20 Advanced Placement Scholars, three Advanced Placement Scholars with Honors and eight Advanced Placement Scholars with Distinction were announced along with two National Merit Hispanic Students and one National Achievement Scholarship semi-finalist. “It was a tremendous night to celebrate with all the students who achieved honor roll status as well as those who were honored as Advanced Placement and National Merit Scholars. We are so very proud of all our students and their achievements.” said principal, Walter D. Lace. Advanced Placement Scholars are Colleen Ahern of Central Islip, Andrea Bianculli of North Massapequa, Gina Chiappetta of Brightwaters, Connor Coyle of Islip, Robert Garrone of Islip, Joseph Gibbons of Lindenhurst, Jessica Marsala of Bohemia, Peter Portanova of St. James, Matthew Scott of Babylon, Meredith Stallone of Sayville, Erin Beach of Commack, Bernadette Bingham of Massapequa, Shannon Conley of Bohemia, Michael DuPlessis of Wantagh, Alexa Gavin of Farmingdale, Margot Howard of Massapequa, Conor McCoy of East Islip, Brian Raux of Bay Shore, Felicia Viscusi of Nesconset and Rebecca Walsh of Lindenhurst. Advanced Placement Scholars with Honors are Christine Bosco of Bayport, Maria Fermindoza of Bayport and Robert Patch of Islip. Advanced Placement Scholars with Distinction are Orlando Cosme, Jr. of Central Islip, Brian Mandaglio of Lindenhurst, Paul Mandaro of Copiague, Joseph Micheels of East Islip, Julia Petrullo of Farmingdale, Ian Powell of Lake Ronkonkoma, Andrea Rosado of Brentwood and Aislinn Rowan of West Islip.

Aislinn Rowan of West Islip is also a National Achievement Scholarship Semi-Finalist. National Merit Hispanic Recognition Program honorees are Orlando Cosme of Central Islip and Andrea Rosado of Brentwood.
