The Fire Island Lighthouse Preservation Society has scheduled two events in the near future.

On Sat., Nov. 28, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. you can help to decorate the holiday tree. Bring a handmade ornament relating to the sea, nature or the lighthouse to hang on the tree. There will be free hot chocolate and cookies.

Also on Sat., Nov. 28, a Thanksgiving weekend evening tower tour will be held at 4 p.m. The cost is $15 per person and reservations are required.

The lighthouse is open all year round. The fall hours through mid-December are 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. All parking is in Field #5 of the Robert Moses State Park. For information, call 631-661-4876.
