Richard W. Koetzner, an educator with the North Babylon School District for 31 years, died Aug. 27, 2009. He was 76 years old. Mr. Koetzner taught fourth and fifth grades in North Babylon and ended his career teaching remedial math and computer skills at the Marion G. Vedder School, formerly known as the Deer Park Avenue School.
