ANNUAL LOUIS ORR MEMORIAL RACE IS A BIG SUCCESS.
Twenty-four boats participated in the event held at the Babylon Yacht Club. Louis was an ardent sailor, and after his death, sailing friends purchased a perpetual trophy to honor his memory. This year Jerry Duanells was the winner of the non-spinnaker class, in second place was Jim Reichel and John Davis came in third. In the spinnaker class Kevin Padden was the winner, Paul Rendich came in second, and David M. Hyer finished in third place. Afterthe races, Libby Orr entertained the participants, their crews and friends at the club, at a party in the senior club house. Nick Orr of Florida flewup for the races and a visit with his mother and friends. IT’S ANOTHER BOY

WE HAD FUN, AND LEARNED A LOT TOO. Our guest speaker at the monthly meeting of the “Babylon Busy Women” last week was Dr. Susan Cullen of Good Samaritan Therapy who presented a very interesting lecture on a wide range of subjects about good health and exercise including balance, nutrition, posture, hydration, abuse of body, and more. It was great seeing so many old friends and new members too. Chatted with Libby Orr, Joan Rumplick, Jean Ramsey, Alice Zaruka, and of course our president Claire Meirowitz who’s doing such a fab job.
