On June 1, Captain Patrick Howlett, a graduate of West Islip High School and West Point Class of 2006, was promoted to the rank of Captain. Captain Howlett is currently the executive officerfor Blackfoot Troop, 4th Cavalry, 1st Infantry Division from Fort Riley, Kansas. He has been in Iraq since early October 2008.
