Development was clearly on the minds of of the West Islip Association's (WIA) members and it became a major topic at a recent board meeting. WIA Board members have been busy behind the scenes attending meetings and gathering information on a number of projects in the 6-square mile hamlet including the proposed development of a 7-Eleven store on Hunter Avenue and Udall Road. The plan seems to be moving along, however much the community, including the WIA, is opposed to the development citing noise, traffic and safety.
