On June 17, the West Babylon Lions held their Annual Installation of Officers and Award Night at the Villa Monaco Restaurant in West Islip. At this meeting, the club honors club members that have provided extraordinary effort to those in need in the West Babylon Community. Furthermore, the club installed their new club officers and the board of directors for the 2009-2010 year.

TheWest Babylon Lions Club has been in existence since 1950 and on an annual basis sponsors successful fund-raising events to assist the needy members of their community. Their efforts include an annual Pancake Breakfast, the Saint Anthony's Feast, Daily Lottery of the Month and a Bi-Annual Boxing Night.

These fund-raising monies are utilized to fund $5000 in scholarships to high seniors on a yearly basis, sponsor guide dogs through the Smithtown Guide Dog Foundation, Charter Sponsor of Boy Scout Troop 175 as well as assisting the community by providing food baskets during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
