Girl Scout Troops 683 and 1043 attend NYS Girl Scout Legislative Day

The girls from Girl Scout Junior Troop 683 and Cadette Troop 1043 from Babylon were recently invited to Albany for the New York State Girl Scout Legislative Network Day on May 5. First the troops spend the night at Girl Scout Camp Issho da. The next day the troops got to talk to assemblymen and senators about their Bronx Award Projects while they were treated to breakfast. The troops then went on a tour of the Capitol Building and met with Sen. Owen Johnson in his office. The troops were then honored with a luncheon at the University Club in Albany. After lunch they met with Assemblyman Phil Boyle who introduced them on the Assembly Room floor while in session. The girls even got to see a bill passed. The group then went to the observation deck of the Corning Tower to see Albany from up high and ended the day with a trip to the New York Museum. The girls not only got to miss school but also enjoyed fun and friendship and visited some fascinating places and people.

Members of Cadette Troop 1043 are Sabrina Bonventre, Jennifer Cornbrooks, Kaileen Langstone, Jane O'Handley, Nicole Brown and RoseAnna Bryant.

Members of Junior Troop 683 are Samantha Persaud, Bridgette Rohl, Kaitlin Jansson, Paige Wolny, Sydney Wolny, Melanie Candelora, Emily Reilly, Karina Munoz, Bianca Suchdeve, Amanda Vargas, Kaitlyn Cosgro, Samantha Parmely, Lauren Bury, Dominique Jones and Cassandra Morgan.
