Steve Stern (D-Huntington, 16th L.D), participated in Huntington's Forest Park Elementary School PARP program, reading to students from kindergarten to fifthgrade. ThePARP program helps foster a love of learning by encouraging parents to read to their children for 15 minutes a day. The event had a Western theme. Leg.Stern read How I Spent My Summer Vacation, by Mark Teague to the children.

"Reading together is a wonderful way for parents and children to share time together," Leg. Stern said. "It encourages a life long love of reading and learning that will stay with children for their entire lives. I applaud Principal Ross Deiner and Assistant Principal Deborah Kolodny and the faculty of Forest Park Elementary for their continued dedication to important programs such as PARP."
