Peg Rendich, 62-Year Babylon Village resident & volunteer
Longtime Babylon Village resident and loving community volunteer Margaret M. "Peg" Rendich died May 20, 2009. She was 87 years old.
Born in Brooklyn and raised in Rockville Centre, she lived in Babylon Village for 62 years. In addition to caring for her family and home, she was a passionate volunteer of many organizations such as Friends in Service Helping (FISH), St. Joseph's Religious Education Program, the Babylon Beautification Society and the Good Shepherd Hospice, where she was presented the 1999 Angel Award.
"Peg was a very active and enthusiastic member of our organization," said Ann Bukowski, former president and current member of FISH. "For about 30 years, she was one of our dedicated drivers and telephone volunteers. Our club will miss her."
Mrs. Rendich leaves behind her children, Christine Mayer and her husband Dr. John, Renee Daniels and her husband Paul, Mari Zimet and her husband Michael, Jean Bouvier, Elaine Jones and her
husband Orrin, Grace Fox and her husband Douglas, Paul, Margaret and Nicholas and his wife Mary. Her grandchildren, Jessica and Paul Mayer, Rachel Godino, Noah and Hannah Daniels, Noah Zoe Woolridge, Hannah Zimet, Adam, Troy and Grant Bouvier, Orrie and Henry Jones, Brian, Gregory and Grace Rendich and Jimmy, David and Brian Fox, and her two great grandchildren, Kyle and Thomas Godino also survive her. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Joseph Rendich, Jr., DDS. She reposed at the Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home on May 22, 2009. A Celebration of the Liturgy was held May 23, 2009 at St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Babylon. A private cremation followed.
