The Deer Park Business and Professional Women's organization installed new officersat its May meeting with the assistance of Past BPW NYS President Maria Hernandez (herself a former Deer Park resident). Standing from left to right: Maria Hernandez, Past BPW NYS President and the newly installed officers Linda Costa as President, Shannon Mashburn as Vice President, Patricia Kern as Treasurer, and Samantha Monasch as Recording Secretary.

The Deer Park Business and Professional Women's organization has been serving the Deer Park and surrounding communities for over 35 years. The organization consists of women from all fields of work, levels of positions, and educational backgrounds who work together to better the future of working women. Some of their projects have included providing educational seminars to female high school students about employment issues, a fashion show for Dress for Success, a food drive for Long Island Cares.

In addition to its outreach activities, the organization meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:45pm, September to June, at the Sheraton Hotel in Hauppauge to hear dynamic speakers on current topics and to share their nurturing spirit, support, knowledge and experience with one another.

At its next meeting , to be held on June 9, they will be presenting two $1,000 scholarships to deserving high school seniors.
