Babylon Village Youth Project to hold its first Bridge Building Contest
On Fri., June 19, 4 p.m. The Babylon Village Youth Project will hold its first Bridge Building Contest. Over the last few months the boys and girls of the youth project have been learning how to design, draw and build bridges made out of popsicle sticks. The bridges will be inspected by Paul Besmertnik, regional structural engineer of the New York State Department of Transportation. After the inspection the children will learn which bridge will hold the most amount of weight.
Other invited guests are Babylon Village Mayor Mayor Ralph Scordino and Town of Babylon Supervisor Steve Bellone.
Other projects the children have completed are photo contests, essay writing, project replenish (food for the food pantries ongoing) and yoga training (ongoing), upcoming web design and photo contest part II.
