John D. Cutillo: carpenter & lifelong Amityville resident
Lifelong Amityville resident and Islandwide carpenter John D. Cutillo died June 3, 2009. He was 68 and was a sailboat enthusiast. Born and raised in Amityville on Margaretta Avenue, he graduated from Amityville High School in 1958 where he was an All-Island selection in both football and wrestling. He had lived on Grand Central Avenue for more than 50 years.
For more than 45 years, he ran John D. Cutillo, Inc. Carpentry in Amityville, which has been passed down to his son, Daniel John of Kings Park.
Mr. Cutillo leaves behind his wife, Geraldine of Amityville, and his children, John Jr. and his wife Sherry of Amityville, Gina Ann Noto and her husband Frank of Center Moriches and Matthew John and his wife Suzanne of Amityville; his daughter-in-law Patricia Cutillo of Kings Park and his grandchildren, Brittany, John III, Ryann, Taylor, Jac, Ashley, Courtney, Frankie and Delilah Mae. His brothers: Gerard and Daniel and many nieces and nephews also survive him. He was predeceased by his brother, William.
He reposed at the Raynor & D'Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville on June 6 and 7, 2009. A funeral mass was said at St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church in Amityville followed by a private cremation.
