•Brian May, of Babylon, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2008 semester at Marist College, Poughkeepsie, New York.

•Natalie Johnson, of Babylon, was named to the dean's list in the New house School of Public Communication, Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York for the fall 2008 semester. She is a 2007 graduate of Babylon High School and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Johnson.

•Two West Islip residents received degrees at the winter graduation of the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. Laura Ann Frain received a bachelor's degree in adolescent education, grades seven to 12, Spanish and Kaylee Ann Ysaguirre received a bachelor's degree in psychology.

•Angela Lamaruggine, of West Islip, will receive a master of science degree in May from Sage Graduate School, Troy, New York.

•The following local residents received degrees from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York at the May 24 commencement: John F. Glynn, of Lindenhurst, received a bachelor of science in applied economics and management and Katherine Anne Olsen, of West Islip, received a bachelor of arts in history.

•The following local residents received degrees from the State University of New York at New Paltz: From Babylon are Amy Frohlich, Christine Sweeney and Lorraine Vultaggio; from North Babylon is Shannon Rigney; from Deer Park are James Donohue, Steven Ferguson and Sarina Maros; from Lindenhurst are Kenneth Hassler and Cody Schatzle and from West Islip is Samantha Graham.

•Named to the dean's list for the fall 2008 semester at the University of Delaware are the following local residents: From Babylon are Cassandra Elizabeth Angiulo and Kristin Alexandra Sutter; from North Babylon are Joseph James Mahoney, David Robert Matuozzi and Sarah Megan Murtagh; from West Babylon is Dawn Marie Teufel; from West Islip are Allison Grace Afflixio, Chelsea Anne Berdolt, Michael Patrick Coughlin, Katie Ann Galgano, Melissa McCall Lenowicz and Ashley Viola Schneider; from Deer Park is William James Sweeney and from Lindenhurst is Kelcie Ann Valentiner.

•Holy Trinity Diocesan High School, Hicksville, has announced its "A" and "B" honor rolls for the third academic quarter of the 2008/2009 school year. To be on the "A" honor roll students must achieve a minimum weighted average of 90 percent and to be on the "B" honor roll students must achieve a weighted average of 85 percent. Named to the "A" honor roll from Babylon are Teresa Austin, Marisa Caruso, Jeannine Florio and Julia-anne Floria; from Lindenhurst are Giancarlo Casella, Lauren Giunta, Alison LaManna, Meaghan Lynch and Cristian Mendoza and from West Babylon are Breanna Amorde, Jade Greco, Samantha Novak and Brianne Weiss. Named to the "B" honor roll: from Lindenhurst is Nicole Cacciatore from North Babylon is Erin Hayes and from West Babylon are Najmie Alice, Tunde Csibi and Michael Ortecho.

•On May 16, New Brunswick Theological Seminary, New Brunswick, New Jersey conferred degrees on the following local residents: Felecia Smith, of North Babylon, received a master of divinity degree and Joanne Albanese, of West Islip, received a certificate in theological studies.
