Government can't — and shouldn't-manufacture cars
Dear Editor:
One of your readers thinks that higher taxes are O.K. as long as you are getting good government services. However, there is a problem when the government delivers bad services. Too many bureaucrats think our money is their money to spend as they like.
Our national government should not be in charge of General Motors as they do not know how to build and sell cars that Americans want to buy. The bankruptcy court should have given General Motors a new start last fall. The stockholders and the marketplace will do what is necessary to rebuild G.M.
The taxpayers need to get what they are paying for in their bailout of General Motors. Also in Massapequa Park, we need a good part-time building inspector that is getting paid for a part-time job.
Ernest Howell,
Massapequa
